Standards including EN 17446, EN 16282-7, VdS, and LPCB mandate that fire suppression/extinguishing products undergo and pass a series of stringent fire tests. Further requirements included individual component testing and technicians to be trained by the system manufacturer. Consequently, only certified partner companies are authorised to distribute, install, and maintain the systems.
The LPCB (Loss Prevention Certification Board) in its standard LPS1223 goes even further and emphasises the need of technical audits. Authorised Partners, that want to be fully compliant with this standard, must be audited by the manufacturer every year, where at least one new and one existing system must be assessed.

About the Programme
RAP hierarchy includes several tiers of rankings, beginning with Member and ascending through Bronze, Silver, Gold, to the highest level, Platinum. Attaining the highest RAP rank of Platinum requires an authorised partner to successfully pass several randomly chosen technical audits consecutively over a minimum span of three years.
